Reclaiming the Feminine with Mama Gena’s School of Womanly Arts
In addition to her studies in mind-body healing, Lara has been on a path embracing and exploring her identity as a woman. After years of trying to live up to American standards of beauty, saddened by the competitive nature of women and feeling her inner beauty wasn't valued she decided to explore a book and school called Mamagena’s School of Womanly Arts.
Lara has a vision of world peace and feels one must find it within first. She takes workshops and classes all over the country in an effort to connect with others and continue to evolve personally and professionally.
Lara began her studies in Eastern healing practices specifically yoga, mindfulness and meditation in 1999. In 2001 she graduated from Columbia University where she received dual Masters degrees in Psychological Counseling.
After struggling from anxiety and various physical ailments caused by trauma, chronic stress and sugar addiction, Lara deepened her studies in mind body healing modalities. Two primary practices, Somatic Experiencing® and Integrative Restoration® have led Lara to experience a level of peace, equanimity and health greater than she ever imagined. She has healed herself from many dis-eases in the body and mind such as Epstein Barr, autoimmune diseases, digestive disorders, and generalized anxiety.
