My dream is for women to fall in love with themselves, access the power of their internal and external beauty, reclaim their femininity and shower the world with their innate compassion, love and nurturance.
A torn past
I grew up in a culture where women didn’t have a voice and were constantly objectified. I learned, as many young girls do, to live in fear of their own sexuality and power. I dressed down to avoid being judged and objectified without consent, not realizing that I was suffocating a part of my essential being. In relationships, I always felt torn between having a deep desire for great love and being fearful of losing myself and subjugating my needs for the needs and wants of another. Like most women, I looked at women in the magazines and media and experienced shame for not meeting that standard of “beauty.”
A joyful present
Years of spiritual practice taught me that my value existed beyond the way I looked but a pivotal catalyst for change came from reading the book “Mama Gena’s School of Womanly Arts” by womanly arts expert Regena Thomashauer. I was so inspired by her words, I completed her course in Womanly Arts and traveled monthly to New York to complete her Mastery program. I’m currently enrolled in her 10 month “Creation Course.” Now, I offer individual and group classes incorporating the teachings of Mama Gena.
