The Chakra system is ancient metaphysical system that diagrams the interrelationship btwn various aspects of our multidimensional universe. As part of the universe we too are multidimensional.  We have bodies, emotions, thoughts, ideas and behavior.

The chakras become centers of activity for the reception, assimilation and transmission of life energies.  They are a roadmap to our psycho-spiritual and psycho-emotional development.

The second chakra governs pleasure. The Second Chakra is all about sexuality, emotions, money, creativity,  passion and pleasure.  It  is located in the pelvic area. Once you feel safe and grounded in the world (first chakra located near the perineum) you can safely explore pleasure, sexuality, money and creativity.

The challenge for the second chakra is societal conditioning. We live in a society where money and sexuality are taboo topics (yet the areas we need the most education in), where feelings are not valued, where passion and emotions are considered “weak”. It’s easy to develop an unhealthy relationship with money and get disconnected from who you are, your true feelings, and sexual expression.

To assess your ability to feel pleasure and balance your second chakra, ask yourself the following questions:

Do you feel connected to your body?

Are you connected to your sensual and sexual nature?

Do you openly express your creativity?

Do you accept and feel ALL of your  emotions?

Do you have a good relationship with money?

If you answered “no” to any of the above questions, please join me on May 29th as we go deeper in exploring these taboo topics.

In the meantime, here are some tips to feel  more pleasure:

1)   Move your body daily! When you move it, feel the joy and pleasure of each and every movement.

2)   Use affirmations that resonate.  Some people say affirmations that feel completely off base.  Try to find a few that feel right.  Here are a few:

“I am learning to feel and connect with my body more and more every day”

“I am passionate and creative”

“I take care of my needs and set healthy boundaries”

“I honor and express my emotions”

3)  Do things you are passionate about and do them OFTEN!
